I JUST got my A-rig replacements in and I think they will work. The slide divers have a back arm that trips with any extra tension. My worry with A-rigs is having too much weight or drag so that they false trip the light bite arms. My current one does great but I am down to one.

The spinners are going to cause drag so we will see. I plan to tighten the tension on the back light bite arm and give it a go.
I am using twister tails on cork screw eyes for the teasers so they do not add weight. The down side to those is I'll bring a fish in and one or two of the teasers also got hit and are gone so I go through eyes and twister tails. It's a small price..
Another tip..
I figure I was getting 60+ down with what I was doing two weekends ago. I ran across a wad of bait with fish in them at 70 ft. I moved up some then cut to idle. This let the baits drop. After about 20 seconds I went to idle again and told my wife I was getting ready to hook up. Five seconds later, Bam.
So you can cover deeper water than what you are set at by cutting to idle. I do the same thing on my down riggers and umbrella rigs.
Excellent post, very helpful
