I am headed to Lake Cumberland Friday morning for stripers. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where to get larger shiners??? I usually get them at Lake Cumberland Country Store but the last couple years they have had only small ones. Any help Please!!!!!!!!!

Pro bass is the best option I can think of off 90
I will be going to the dam area or state park. staying in Russell Springs.
1 - Valero in Russel Springs (Pro Bass)
2 - BP in Jamestown
3 - State Dock Marina
4 - Alligator 2 Marina
Kind of a crap shoot this time of year but between them you should be able to find some decent bait. Last time I was down there about a month ago Valero had some nice big shiners.
Strange usually has some good ones.

where is Strange located??
Strange is in burkesvill
ok thanks, I'm going to be on the dam end. Is anyone else going to Cumberland this Friday? I sometimes like to work with other fisherman to help each other find the fish.
I'm heading down Friday afternoon for the weekend. Not sure about fishing Friday evening yet. A few weeks ago, shiners weren't producing. Had a couple striper bites, but seemed like they hit it then spit it out. Shad should be easier to get as the weather cools. I plan on catching shad Friday night. I'll keep you posted if I do any good.
This past Sunday I put a light out and I could hear alewives flipping on the surface almost immediately. Started towing net after about 30 minutes. Got plenty if nice alewives and no threadfins. Graph was solid yellow from surface to 40'.I'm heading down Friday afternoon for the weekend. Not sure about fishing Friday evening yet. A few weeks ago, shiners weren't producing. Do tell more Peter...towing? You use that shad trawl thing? How does that work with a light? I'll be down this weekend. Hearing bait is best around 50 feet. A big net with tape works best at that depth.
