I didn't see a new member forum, so I am posting here. Been fishing in Frankfort, and Lexington. Will expand when the sun comes out next year to Richmond and maybe Guist Creek and Taylorsville.

Best lake to carp fish within an hour is Cave Run Lake. Lots of big carp. Licking River has some, but tons of buffalo. Might want to check out Stoner and Hinkston Creek in Bourbon County.
Below the spillway at Cave run and Frymans camp ground/boat dock in Bourbon county. Access is limited on Stoner and Hinkston in other areas.
Shoot me a message in the spring and I can put you on some Elkhorn Creek carp. No giants, but plenty of 8-10 pounders to be had.
anyone ever eat a carp, wonder how they taste,
Yes and well....no, there are to many other critters out there that taste better for sure...very oily. Nolin also has a very good population of them. I used to use Roman meal bread tightened up with a little beer in muddy coves and flat kill them. Chuck
Kinda figured that, they are the only fish them dang otters havent cleaned out
Not bad with this recipe:
1. Fillet carp
2. Season lightly with lemon pepper and salt
3. (IMPORTANT PART) Place on cedar cooking board
4. Place in 325 degree oven for 12-15 minutes
5. Remove, discard fish, eat the cedar board
