What size do you guys recommend for trolling on Cumberland at speeds from 2-3.5 for stripers? I am looking for minimal blowback for accuracy so is 10lb OK or should I go to 12lbers. They will be on a Cannon Uni-Troll 10 STX Downrigger.
What are you guys running and what are your thoughts?

Blow back has several factors.
Wire / or power pro ( I use power pro 150lb much less blow back)
What are you pulling ( pulling Alabama rigs have far greater resistance than a single Doll fly )
Speed
Depth (deeper you are the more cable in the water the more resistance)
I keep two sets on the boat
8lb
12lb
One other thing to reduce "blow back" is to use pancake style instead of ball shape weight,s.

Thank you for the replies so far. I will be trolling different baits and I realize once you get down past a certain depth there will always be some degree of blowback depending on several factors. I want to "minimize" this effect as much as possible and wondered what most guys are running. I will probably just go with the 12lb since its the same price as a 10lb and I don't see any cons to running a 12lb vs a 10lb.
