I have no visual of the lake but I am only 4 miles from GRL. I was on the water Friday and the main lake was clear but water that feed into the main lake was stained. Saturday we got a downpour/flash flood that dumped 2.3" of rain in a couple of hours. I would imagine that anything feeding into the main lake is rolling mud. I would guess there is areas on the main lake that are far away from a feeder system is still a decent color. This is only a guess but I would say 50% or so of the lake is colored or muddy.

Per corps web link the lake at 8 AM 5/28 was 2.2 ft over summer pool and rising. It rose 1.94 ft from 5/27-5/28. The inflow is 9396 so there is still a lot of water rolling in. The outflow for 5/29 is supposed to be 361 so with 9000 coming in a 300 going out the lake will rise more.

Thanks for the info. I guess the cat fishing will be good and maybe a little tough on bass.

Where can a person check to see what the inflow to the lake is?

One note of interest. Sometimes the info is a day late. Majority of the time it accurate but I have seen it run a day behind.

    I use this site : http://lrl-apps.lrl.usace.army.mil/w.../lkreport.html

Plus, if you click on the blue highlighted lake name it will take you to another screen where you can click on "Lake Temp" link, and when you click on that it shows a chart that gives you water temps at surface to bottom & dissolved oxygen levels at those depths. But ... you do have to bare in mind that these readings are taken at the dam ... and they are not done daily, so check the date they were taken.

If you click on the blue highlighted number under "Today's Pool Feet" .... it takes you to a chart that shows the past year's info on water levels, rain amounts, and inflow/outflow rates.
