LOL !! ... I don't know as I'd be much help on Spider Rigging, as I don't actually fish that way. I do, however, "push" jigs & cranks ... and I'm still a stone rookie with that technique.

Best I can say about Spider Rigging is : boat speeds between 0.1 & 0.4mph - long rods (12-16ft) - rod holders mounted within easy reach at bow of boat - 1/2 to 3/4oz weight on main line - 12 to 18in leader for your jig or hook (and lighter pound test than main line)

Good electronics with map chip & a variable speed trolling motor are a big help, as is knowing the area you intend to fish.

Spider Rigging is basically "minner fishing" while slowly moving over cover and/or structure.

By "pushing" (jigs/cranks) I mean going at speeds of 0.6 - 1.8mph ... 1/2oz to 2oz weights ... no minners involved. A 24v variable speed trolling motor & good electronics (& map chip) are a big help in this technique, as well. I'm doing it with a 12v 5spd trolling motor & a Down Image unit (w/o any map chip) with fair results. My preferred methods are casting jigs & Roadrunners, Vertical Casting jigs, and shooting docks with jigs ... depending on what lake I'm fishing. Here's what I mean by "Vertical Casting" : http://www.fishin.com/forums2/conten...y-crappiepappy
