I think I heard that one before

Yes I sometimes watch fox news, the cable talking heads. They had a trumpador talking about the benefits of the upcoming tax cuts.He ws so enthusactic I almost started to think he knew what he was talking about. How lowering the corporate rate, will spur the economy, and the new incoming revenue fro increased take home pay would create a surplus in a few years. Then it dawned on me. This the sos that was told to us before, how the coffers would be filled to the breaking point, and the excess would spill down to the general public.. In theory, that makes sense, also in theory a bumble bee couldn't fly. Does the phrase "trickle down" mean anything to you? I see more and bigger corporate jets, larger incentive packages for CEOs, bigger golden parachutes. More lobbyists, and then the excess money to us, rolled off the table, and down the drain. Yes there was a trickle down, to a lot of us it ws more like a "golden shower". Guess I'm just a born sceptic, I wish maybe I could again believe politicians, I did once, but that ended in dallas.

In my world of working for the same small company for the last 19 years it does work. Our increased profits mean bigger bonuses, better equipment to work with and just a better working atmosphere that only success can bring. We supply iPhones, work trucks, gas cards, employee health insurance, dental insurance, profit sharing, HSA contributions paid vacations and paid personal days. I dont feel entitled to extra money the owner may have based on lower taxes or projects coming in with stellar profits but as small business owners know that they need to share or good people (usually management first)will leave and start their own company because at that level we create our own competition quicker than on major corporate levels.
I have zero first hand experience with multi-billion dollar companies other than when I was in the army but it isn't always about Microsoft, Wells Fargo or Apple. The small companies keep a huge portion of every day Americans going and yes many of them share. We also suffer together....Obamacare scared us but we survived because we adapted. How? Raised our prices and changed to even higher deductible plans. So in small companies the changes come faster....both good and bad.

    I understand and agree

Small specialty concerns can and almost need to share in part of the profits, as you stated, they may cause someone to open a competetive company. But what I'm talking about is "the norm"everyone can't be a technician or a specialist, there wouldn't be enough work for them in some fields.. One of my inlaws got into the wind farm repair business. He makes darn good money, because there are three large wind farms, and two service companys. Add a third, and he'dbe looking at food stamps. I understand "trickle down" works for some, but not the majority. Tell me it's fake news that american wages have remained stagnent for the past 12 years. And yes companies are saying there is a labor shortage in some areas.WHY? because training a person costs money, and that detracts from the bottom line. Pie in the sky requirements for job applicants, they are not realistic. A person with hose qualifications is either employed, or would,t work for the proposed wages. our secondary education system for folks not going to college is a laughing stockWho in their right mind would take a teachers salary to teach a trade where they would make much more? And our universities, they got cents and sense mixed up. The folks with the later go broke trying to get an education, while the cents graduate with degrees like ancient art or languages, or speaking farsi, and living at home with mom and dad, and complaining about the economy.
