I went to Hatchery Creek with my son this past weekend. I had been talking about it for months and finally found the time to make a day trip with him off of school.

I have to say we are really lucky to have this resource in our state. We got there and were able to enjoy that hatchery and the Wildlife officers that work there were so wonderful answering my sons questions and showing him around.

We fished the creek for several hours and it was a lot of fun. The upper portion seemed to be the only place the fish were really biting, but the lower section was gorgeous. They really did a wonderful job. My son left ecstatic having hooked into a number of decent sized rainbow. I basically had to drag him out of there.

I would really recommend you take your kids/grandkids if you get a chance. It gave my son some great fly casting practice.
