All is Silent
This morning
A cold East breeze has pushed away
The warm late October afternoons
Swirls of wood smoke
Can be seen above chimneys
Settling across trees of color
The lake lies rippled
In shimmering reflection
All is silent
Except for a faraway turkey call
Bluejays cracking beechnuts
And breaching of gars
