It’s Christmas Eve

The dawn breaks to a glorious morn
A misty haze lays low across sage fields
Sparrows pick seed from the fed hay
Cats sit fluffed in warm woolen coats
Horses stand sleepily nodding in the shed
It’s Christmas Eve
Soon snowflakes will begin to fall
Sleep well little children in ribbons and lace
For tomorrow is Christmas
When dawn breaks with redeeming grace
