This was also one of my bucket list trips, and now I can check it off, we drove all the way to the pacific coast, started north to the Dakotas, visited the Badlands, my Rushmore, crazyhorse, and the badlands is one of the most beautiful places ever, then west to Wyoming and Montana, visited Yellowstone National Park, then south to Idaho, visited Shoshone falls, then north/west into Oregon, visited Columbia river gorge, Multnomah falls, crossed the Columbia river at the bridge of the gods, into Washington, then on west to the coast. We did the Pacific ocean coast drive alone the scenic route highway 101, as we got back into Oregon again going south we spent the night in a little town called seaside, had the best country breakfast you could ask for there at a little place called Granny’s kitchen, all the way south on 101 through Oregon and California the scenery is breathtaking, one little small town after the other, very clean little towns, and everyone we met were the nicest people ,back across California to Yosemite National Park, this place was so pretty, it was hard to decide which way to point your camera, then east across Death Valley into Las Vegas Nevada, on to the Hoover Dam, now I was very disappointed in Hoover Dam, it didn’t live up to the grand image I had in my head, but the Grand Canyon National Park made up for it, the Grand Canyon was awesome, then we went south into New Mexico and Texas, mostly just open range, then north to Oklahoma and east through Arkansas and Tennessee to Ky. After making this drive, I get a better image in my mind, just how massive this country is, the good Lord sure did a wonderful job when he decorated America, when you go, don’t just rely on GPS, take a good road atlas map, this way you can get off the expressways and drive the backroads and small towns where you will meet some very nice folks. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did,
