I planned on it, but even in TN they got a couple inches of snow... I bumped back my trip a couple weeks.

Oh, I was very careful this past week at Chick when I had her out on her maiden voyage with fish flopping on the carpet, pooping, etc! I broke her in right last week though.... The very first fish I caught in the new boat was a 7lb 8oz!! I hope that's a good sign of things to come... I caught an 8lb a couple days later too!! Not too bad with 45-47 degree water.

I love the Ultrex, I used the spot lock a bunch this week. The Solix 15 w/360 is sweet too, but I still need more screen time with them to dial them in and learn all the features. The hole shot on the G2 is nuts, I'm almost instantly up on plane and it'll push you back in your seat if you punch it while doing like 30mph, the torque on it is unreal. My only complaint with the new boat is my lunch meat in the cooler absorbed the "new boat" fiberglass smell and it tasted like that smell, had to throw it out...LOL.

Was able to get my hands on a 50th Anniversary "Icon edition" exclusive traction pad, so I ripped up the carpet and I'm going to give it a shot...

    Thanks.

I put a bunch of weight on it and let it sit for a week straight now, so it's rock solid and ain't coming off.

Ford and Ranger ... Great combination! Looks GREAT! One question though, any reason for choosing the Evinrude engine over the other out board engines? Just curious.

    Thanks, appreciate it.

I had a Etec 250 H.O. on my 2009 Z520 and loved it. It was super quiet and I never had any major issues with it (it had almost 600 hours on it when I traded it in....), so I decided to stick with Evinrude. Every time I'd see someone else at the ramp, they would always make a comment about how quiet it was.

With the G2 I got a 10 year warranty so I'm covered until 2028, which is a big piece of mind with a $20k+ motor. And I got $1k cash back from Ranger for going with the Evinrude. I've got about 35 hours on the G2 now and it's been flawless so far. The steering is also contained inside the motor housing, so no more steering cables and rods, just one simple black wire harness going from the outboard to the boat, making the splashwell/transom area a lot more organized and not as "cluttered" as the other brands.
