    Humminbird Smartstrike map card

Has anyone used these? Getting a new Helix unit for the console of my boat and just wondering if they're worth the extra $$?

I got one last year and returned it. It has very few Kentucky lakes on it. Double check the list on their website. Kentucky lake is one of them and they may have added more since. I fish Dale Hollow, Cumberland and Green River Lake and it was useless for me.

Well that's good enough for me, MrPike. I fish Cumberland a lot and Laurel as well. So that's a definite no for me!

I ended up going with a Garmin echomap unit and the mapping is PHENOMENAL and very accurate. I have owned a few Hummingbird units in the past (still have one on the bow) and they don't even come close as far as detail and accuracy. The lakes I fish I can set the contour lines to 1 foot increments with depth shading. Positioning is dead on accurate too.

I had a Garmin console unit years ago and loved it. The Raymarine graphs look super nice too.
