Water temps were 49° when we launched. Between 55-56° when we finished up. Had 4 fish today, a 2lb largemouth, a 2 lb smallie, a 4 lb smallie & a short largemouth. Water clarity was crazy. Water is fine around State Dock, a bit of color/stain midway up Sulphur Creek and very dirty at Sulphur Marina. Its not quite back down to Casey just yet. I've been fishing this lake for several years and I've never seen it as dirty as it in in Sulphur. I would almost call it muddy.
Fun fish of the day was a 3 foot alligator gar on a crank bait. It got out of the water and it was all over. Didnt get a chance to get the camera recording before it tossed my bait. Fun battle!
Fishing was crazy tough today as there was no clouds and very little wind this morning. The wind stood up 15-20 this afternoon.
Hoping tomorrow will be better bite with the clouds.

I managed one decent SM today, that took
nearly 3 hours. That included zero hits zero
missed. Ouch!
I was down Friday and Saturday. Friday morning was raw. Rain/mist fog cold. Caught a few small ones and a decent 20. Towards evening, the bite picked up. I caught the fat one on main lake off of island point close to state dock. It was just over 22 inches and fat fat fat! Oh what a fight! Same area we caught a 20” and several smaller ones. We were using LB. I did manage a few small largemouths on a tube bait. Saturday morning was a wonderful day on the lake until about 1:30. The wind really kicked in. I couldn’t get my trigger set Saturday. My partner showed me up with a few 20 inches while I was missing them left and right. Everything said about the water temp and water clarity, I concur.
Good going I was never able to get the fish to bite,
during those days, even today was a struggle
it’s always good to know when others find fish,
Dale will produce.
