    trade

any opinions on the trade tariffs?
most big shot economists on both sides are opposed.
they've never lost their job to low wage foreigners like i have.
even the news commentators, including fox are bad mouthing tariffs.
they're all saying cost of goods will increase, 1 cent on beer, $175 on cars.
i'll gladly pay that extra small percentage to support an American worker.
are we willing to lower our standard of living even further to compete with extremely poor countries and their poverty life style?
i've bought stuff directly from those countries because what i want is no longer made here.
even if you can find the goods here, an importer is just selling foreign made stuff.
after talking with the foreign sales people describing their way of living, i definitely wouldn't trade places with them.
china is already kicking our butt with india close behind.
china is the one that needs a big tariff.
just wait until africa, north korea, etc. unleash their zero wage workers on the world trade market.
i want to hear a regular work a day person tell me they're against the tariffs.
how do we eliminate the 600 billion trade deficit?

    Too little too late

Our agricultural voters sold us down the river, we complained about subsidized steel 30 years ago, where I grew up in the calumet area of IL and In, there were 15 steel mills and 6 refineries in that area, wages were good, the politicians and corporations got what they wanted, low wages, more imports, and more cheap labor to come here. The mills will never come back, the standard of living will never again be the same for the lower middle class. the top 2% never lost a nickel At my age I don't give a ratazz about free trade, it never was there. Wait I won't be around, but a cashless society is just around the corner, and WE want it. Bad thing is one little key stroke or button can spell economic disaster for millions, or should I say for 98% of the world population.

    Trump is a MASTER negotiator.........

Folks are not paying attention, or have never read Art of the Deal.

    Pay attention folks.

1). Our North American Trading partners don't don't want to play ball
2). NAFTA ***** ass...it hurts America and is a horrible deal for us.
3). Tariffs on Steel and Aluminum.

    A couple questions....

1). Who do we import most of our steel from......it ain't China. 3 of the top 5 participate in NAFTA.
And a couple are our ENEMIES......Yea, trump is colluding .

2). Who do we import most of our Aluminum from......it ain't China. 1 of the top 3 participate in NAFTA.
And a couple are our ENEMIES......Yep.......more collusion .
With friends like that......who needs enemies.....

Canada and Mexico WILL come to the table.......they are about to get their AZZ kicked.

    Later,

    Geo

    Smile So who did it???

NAFTA wasn't a "virgin" birth. In all probability it wasn't even the brain child of an elected official. That dosn't leave many options does it.Either it was a conspiracy by american workers to have more free time[work interferes with free time]. Or some special corporate interests to increase th "bottom" line.I opt for the free time theory.
