Dale can be a really tough lake without a knowledge base. Best advice I can give is get a good guide like Dave Clark http://www.trolldhl.com/

I am hoping to get to spend the weekend fishing Dale Hollow, though I do not ever get to fish it. The past times I have been there I have struck out and thought I would give it a try again. Does anyone have any pointers to start me out with? Should I start kinda deeper out on the main lake or do people mostly go back into the creeks or the river? Any baits I should be considering this time of year down there? Any information would help. Not really trying to target only smallmouth or only largemouth, just looking to catch some fish and hopefully have a good time. Thanks!

Caught some decent smallies there last week on a jerk bait. Found most fish off points on the main. Caught a couple dinks cranking in the backs of creeks and on a couple of shallower rocky flats. Caught one real nice LM on a crank bait off a point.
