Hey everyone.....I wanted to convey some good news and an even greater opportunity to make our lakes better

I am on the board of directors at the Indiana Bass Federation and wanted to share some news with all of you. Last year, the IBF teamed up with the Indiana DNR in their Reservoir Habitat Enhancement Project. A lot of great things have been happening since that time. The IBF and DNR are now working hand in hand to implement the DNR's original 5 year plan and have even added fish stocking to the program to augment the habitat. The bottom line is that we have a great opportunity here to make our lakes better places to fish. We now have the opportunity to put our dollars towards an endeavor that will directly impact our fishing in a positive way. The IBF has already purchased $5,000 worth of 8"-10" largemouth that will be released into Raccoon Lake on April 27 prior to the Top 8 fishing weekend there. The 8"-10" fish are more expensive but will survive at a very high rate. The next planned stocking is at Monroe following our habitat project there this summer. If enough money is raised we can also stock Patoka. After the stocking, biologists are going to study each of the lakes to assess the impact we are having and adjust accordingly. The key is getting the funding to fully implement this vision. The IBF has set up a GoFundMe page to help make this vision a reality.

So what can you do to help

1. Check out the GoFundMe page and donate at:

2. Help out with our habitat projects - Monroe is this summer
- we need materials to build Indiana pallet structures and Georgia Cubes (Monroe project = 160 Indiana pallet structures, 30 Georgia Cubes, and 40 Pennsylvania Porcupine Cribs)
- materials include concrete blocks, untreated pallets, 1 1/2" PVC pipe, elbows, and T's, 4" corrugated drain tile
- we have a form the DNR will sign off on for tax write off once the material is delivered
- we need help this summer building these structures for the DNR to distribute in the lake (note: there will be a map generated and made available when the project is complete)
3. Join the IBF, we are doing great things.

We are going to make the fishing in Indiana great

Thanks
Jason
