    Cumberland jumps

    Hello my friends

I am about 2 weeks away from our annual fall stripper trip. We love getting into the jumps this time of year so i am hoping to get some intel before we get there. We will be in the jamestown/beaver area and usually fish between wolfe and white tire but not opposed to going to the dam. Last yr we got skunked jump fishing so we are bringing our bait pulling gear this year. Anyway this is my favorite trip of the year and am really really looking forward to it. Any information leading up to 10/17 would be appreciated and of course i will report back after the trip. Thx BG

I will be striper fishing from 10/12-10/16. Launching at the dam and spending most of the time in that area.
I will let you know what I find.
    Anyone know current surface temps?

This is what i saw today, 77.2 - 77.8 for surface temps from mouth of Indian to dam, I was off the water around noon. I didn't see any jumps nor did i see any stripers on any of my hooks. Did get a couple nice channel cats and one really nice brown fish that was released. Tuff fishing but a beautiful morning.

If your heading towards dam, pass beaver, pass ramp on right and alittle ways past that on left is a point that has a spray painted white tire up in a tree on the point. The point is on the left of creek if you are looking directly at the creek. It has been there a long time and It is possible the tire is now gone but that is white tire. Haha. I will give you all the intel i get from our trip. The group will be there 10 days. I will be there 5.

Any time could be a good time. But they typically start schooling up really tight and moving really fast about now. That can make for a feast or famine type situation. Cumberland is probably two to three weeks behind right now due to this warm weather and the warm water but it may catch up pretty fast with the temps projected starting tomorrow. Surface temps were 81 this past weekend but I would guess that only went a few feet deep. Temps at 30 are probably still 78 or so. That's based on the quality report from last week. You usually need high water temps in the mid 70s for consistent jumps.

Raining this morning here at the lake. I think I'll just drink coffee and take it easy.

Hoping this cooler weather changes it up a bit. In a good way! Less than a wk!
