Tough time on a KY elk hunt

I got the coveted golden ticket this past spring--rifle bull elk hunt tag in KY. As you can imagine, I was excited. I reached out to a friend who lives in Jackson about which guide to call. This friend is a solid guy who would give you the shirt off his back, but it turned out that he was wrong about the guide.

The guide took my money and didn't do what he said he would do. He even told me that he wasn't going to send a guide with me because his guides don't know how to find elk. All-in-all, I paid for a guided elk hunt but got to hunt alone for seven days in the mountains. Well, not alone. I was told I'd be the only one with hunting rights to a huge piece of property, but the land was community property where everyone and his brother hunted.

I gave the guy the option to knock some money off what we had agreed upon as an acknowledgment that he hadn't delivered what he promised (he'd still get 2/3 of the original price even though I got way less than 2/3 of the experience!). He said no.

I'm not the kind of guy who drags someone's name across an open forum. If you get drawn for a KY elk hunt and plan to hunt in the Hazard area, shoot me a direct message. I'll tell you the whole story and let you decide. Please don't contact me to gossip or dig. I don't roll that way.
