    Lake Cumberland ramps

Thinking of heading to the lake this weekend and don't want to waste a 2 hour drive.... can anyone comment as to which ramps are accessible with the high water? Grider said they were launching in front of the lodge. Beaver said their ramp was closed...and would be for awhile.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks!!

I don't have anything first hand. I know Grider pretty well and I would guess launching from the middle ramp may be possible with another ft drop or so. Many ramps would be accessible if it were not for all the trash and debris that has washed up on them from what I am hearing. Halcombs should be pretty easy by now.

Put in at Grider Hill Sunday morning, water was still up in the parking lot, but it was a pretty easy launch. Started off pretty well... or at least my brother did... four in the first 90 minutes on a orange/red crank, but only two the rest of the day. I managed one 14" smallie and he finished with a 16" spot on a ned rig. All were caught in basically the same area. Indian creek main points. Water was somewhat stained for cumberland. Temps 49-51

Halcomb's Landing, the ramp at the dam was very easy to unload/load Tuesday 3/12. Actually it was kind of nice not having to climb a mountain to go get the truck. Morning surface temp at the dam was 47 and 48 late in the afternoon. The main body has a light stain and the coves are more clear in the backs. All different kinds of color and temperatures were found in Indian on 3/12. I saw anything from clear to mud with temperatures varying 47-54 pending what water color you were in and time of day.

I know Tuesday is not a popular day for most people to fish but I found it very odd that I was on the water for 8 hours and only saw 1 striper boat and 1 bass boat, so including myself there was just three boats on the lower end of the lake and in Indian.
