I’ve fished this river many many times. Last few years I haven’t done very well. Finally hit the river with a good water flow and we killed it. Maybe 30 fish between us. Didn’t keep any. 4 fish were in the 16-17 inch range. Rest were smaller. Most were rainbows. Caught all them before 12:00 noon. I put in at helms landing and fished down to Winfrey’s landing. I timed the float with the water flow. Water was still lower early in the morning. They began letting out big water at 10am. We stayed down river of the higher flow until the bright sun just slowed things down until we called it a day. This was 2 weeks ago. Caught all on inline spinners and orange shap rap. (Favorite lure there). With low flow now, I would not take a boat down since it’s 2 hour drive for me. Wading is probably great.
