With all the negative news and media, I went out to do some fishing and clear my mind a bit. I went out to the Rappahannock River in VA for some early season smallmouth and largemouth bass. I do not get out and fish this river much, but enjoy the great scenery and fishing when I do. Water temps were about 52 and I decided to concentrate on the contour lines where the shallow water dropped into deeper water of 8 -15ft....if those contours had fallen trees or brush, even better. Since I was on a river, my first choice was a crawfish colored crankbait, which turned out to be a great choice as I was able to boat a few fish on the moving tide.
