You're pretty much fishin the Ohio river when you fish Taylorsville. When they damed salt river you have every species that is in the river right there. Good to hear the walleye population is there.

went to Taylorsville lake today to bass fish and had quite a surprise..
Crankbait fishing, beating the bank all day and catch 10 bass, two 10 inch crappie, a 14 lb catfish and a walleye!!! (and two drum)
I didn't know there were walleye in Taylorsville lake.
I also didn't know that a catfish would hit a crankbait.
Does anybody out there fish for walleye at Taylorsville?

I know zero about the Taylorsville fish population...regarding catching a catfish on a crankbiat I have done that as well as a spinner-bait, jig and to my surprise a buzz-bait. Over the years those are the few baits I can think of that I have caught catfish on. It's not very often I catch one on artificial bait. I might do it once every 2-3 years. Typically its this time of year right before they go on nest.
They are Saugeye. They have been stocking them in Taylorsville for about 3 yrs. Have caught several bass fishing the last 2 yrs. caught one last week almost 18" long.

Tacklebag is correct .... they are stocking Saugeye in Taylorsville Lake. I've caught two out of there myself, one dink and one keeper sized fish, and put both of them back.
Also caught plenty of Catfish, Drum, Bass, White Bass, & Hybrids while Crappie fishing, casting jigs & Road Runners (plus the two Saugeye) at Taylorsville Lake. And I've caught Catfish while Pushing cranks (just not at Taylorsville Lake).
