Geo - you are dead on. My last trip 3 weekends ago I fished a half day on Barkley and lots of shad -- school after school after school - were working on rocky flat banks. I actually saw whites in the jumps for the first time in some years coming up strong on one huge school of shad. Only caught several small brown bass plus the usual bonus fish - drum, whites, and a channel - that morning but was encouraged seeing that many threadfin as that can only lead to better times. Must have had a good spawn and I hope the bass did the same. Not seeing many small largemouth on Barkley but that said I have put in more hours on Ky this spring. Hope to do more this fall myself...
