What If

What if candidates had nothing to say
No frontrunner, no underdog
And voters gave their vote away

What if there were no conventions
No written speeches, no promises
Never meant to keep

What if there were lies spoken as truth
Used to subdue, to over power
As the people sleep

What if our freedoms and liberties
Went quietly into the night
Would it mean we lost the fight
