    Question Taylorsville crappie

Are you catching any crappie? Shallow or deep? Brush piles or up near banks? Any info appreciated.
    Thanks Bassky

Last time I went they were still down around the 15ft depths, schooled on trees with branches at that level. Most fish were shorts, but did manage three 11" fish on jigs tipped with small minnow. Shad were schooled up and could be seen anywhere from surface to 15-20ft deep. Water temps were around 70deg (this was week before last). Did see some people slow trolling with minnows out in 25-30+fow & catching fish & some fishing stickups in the pockets with slipfloats/minnows ... same results as we were having.

The rains are likely to start the lake on a quick rise & muddy up the river end, so I'd check on water levels before you head out this week. Luck2ya, buddy !!

We will be fishing lower end of lake. Hopefully the rains won’t churn up the lake too bad. Thanks for info crappypappy!

I live a few miles upriver from Van Buren, and we got ~3 in of rain last night and this morning. River came up quick between 9:00am and noon today. I'll be heading out at 5:00pm and will check it again. My guess is there will be plenty of floaters to dodge for a good while. Be careful out there.

I went yesterday bass fishing and saw a lot of crappie still in that 15-20 ft range.
