It’s Christmas Eve

The dawn breaks
In a misty cold haze
Winter sage bends with the wind
Sparrows pick seed from fed hay
Cats sit fluffed in warm woolen coats
Horses in shelter stand sleeping
It’s Christmas Eve
Soon snowflakes will begin to fall
Sleep well little children in ribbons and lace
For tomorrow is Christmas
When dawn breaks with redeeming grace
