I usually use same colors or types that I use during daylight. There is a couple short arm/Colorado techniques that work but I rarely use them. I’m a firm believer that bass are not sight feeders though, plenty of baitfish ate at night without changing colors or vibrations.

interesting...i like your thought process...makes sense.
i'll be trying your idea this summer.
do you also use willow blades at night?
i like a little vibration so i can tell what's going on but with braided line, i may be able to feel a good willow?
glad to know someone is thinking outside the box.

It is like I stated earlier. I dance with what I bring. I don’t have but maybe two black spinnerbaits with colorado blades and frankly I only use them in muddy winter conditions. I would say 90% of my spinner bait fish at night come off willow blades. Either white or chart/white.

Sometimes I think fishermen can get goofy. I fish green pumpkin at night as much as black with jigs, worms, creature baits. I will say all three of those baits black is a staple. I just don’t have many black spinnerbaits with Colorado blades.

A good test is take a plain hair jig to Dale at night, take a thumping football jig and see what difference is. No doubt, sometimes the thumper will win but simple hair jig will hang tough. You will feel a fish with any kind of line you use, that’s the only action I’m feeling for.

3/4 ounce black/red skirt with black or chrome number 6 colorado blade in bright moonlight. Usually don't throw it if the moons not up.

I've always been told black/red or black/blue, but a 1/2 oz Colorado blade in Chartreuse/White has caught me a few nice fish at night. paddle tail swimbait as a trailer.
