    Good Morning All

    Hello fishi.com friends,
just wanted to update on my kung flu progriess.
Its been a very difficult journey to say the least. I have been reluctant to update or comment on my progress because the minute i think i am over tis crud another complication or situation pops up.
the biggest lingering effect of this (or so it seened) has been unrelenting fatigue. i could literally sleep 24 hours a day if i didnt force myself to get out of the bed. thats not me, i hate sleeping in late much less all the time. the fatigue has improved quite a bit lately but on the other hand i dont push it. ive been on a couple very shorlt middle of the day bass fishing trips and did "ok" as far as stamina. If i continue to improve i plan on starting the striper dance by April, fingers crossed.
the second issue has been "brain fog". now, my wife will admit this was present before covid but shes just jealous that i can remember my age....shes terrible at that! no, seriously it it a strange sensation to not be able to focus on and remember a list of tasks for the day. this too is improving.
the third problem i am encountering is this lingering dry hacky cough i get at night (every night).
theres really no treatment but like the other challenges this too is improving .
one thing that really has me concerned is since covid my kidney function has been less than ideal and i am having a lot of trouble controlling my daily sugar readings. as in eating EXACTLY what im supposed to and the next day my sugar readings be at levels that would normally hospitaize someone with those readings, but i live with a "seasoned" RN so i treat at home and very closely monitored. So, more long drives to Lexington to yet even more specialists. that sounds like im complaining, and i am but at the same time i am very thankful for these talented , intelligent people.

sorry for the long winded post, i hope all are doing well.
let me say this before i go, i dont care what your political views are, what your views are on masks, or gatherings or travel.
what i want you to do is PROTECT yourselves and your loved ones. by all means follow your conscience , im not telling you to force yourself to do something youre uncomfortable with, i am telling you to do as much as you care to do, everything, anything helps.
if you do catch this i hope the worst thing you deal with is not being able to smell or taste bad gas for a few days.
just know the other route is straight up hill. it is devastating physically, mentally (on the whole famiy), financially ( my medical bills would make you throw up) and i have very good insurance, and if you ever want to experience the loss of "freedoms", getting hit hard by this krap will stop you from doing evreything you love to do, maybe permanently.
Take care all, be safe, tight lines

We all are wishing you well. I was really worried that we might have lost you. I know that people recover one day and get sicker the next day. I've read that. Did they give you any antivirals? I forgot if you said anything about that. I got both my Pfizer vaccine shots but still will be careful and not get around people until this thing is finally under better control. I'm glad that you are still with us and are not in the hospital.

Thanks for the post. IT really hits home when someone we know gets it.

I have another really good friend..........Mid 40s. He's always been on the fence of this is "just the flu". Well a few months ago, "just the flu" nearly killed him.

He caught it on a Friday he's pretty sure from a mass gathering of 30-40 people, not doing much to prevent the "flu".

By Thurs he was feeling bad. Friday, he had his wife take him to the hospital, where he was promptly admitted. By Saturday he was on a ventilator........

Sunday, they told his family he was probably not gonna make it.

Coma from Sunday to Wednesday..........Wednesday night he felt better.

He spent another week in the hospital.

He's finally feeling better, but still has trouble walking up a couple flights of stairs.

IF you get a good case of it, you might just still die from it, or have long term, lasting effects.

    Later,

    Geo

agree with the above statement...the most strange thing about covid is the range of effects it has on people.

    You will prevail

If anybody can beat this thing, as many have, I know you will prevail. Best regards and continued success whooping the bug and returning to the challenge of catching Stripers that all, right now, seem to be social distancing from my Zora Spook. Hey, are you going to be part of the team that vaccinates the Striped Bass so they will feel more comfortable schooling up and putting foreign objects in their mouth once again. Darn fish are way to germophobe right now.😜😩🤪😀😂😋🤔👍

thanks all for the well wishes. big improvements every day. I know the recent catch phrase "new normal" seems mundane and we all just sigh and go on, but I'm not satisfied with my "new normal". I walked (forced myself) in the woods and fields today hunting for shed antlers. it kicked my butt but it was a great personal reward to pull it off. I wanted to quit several times but I was actually embarrassed to so....
