All the media did was report on a statement released by the Capitol Police (an official govt. and law enforcement agency) that Sicknick "died due to injuries sustained while on-duty." If you want to blame someone, blame the CP.

I will look for link from CP. I find it odd they would do that without any evidence or autopsy though. Also, his brother came out early on and said his brother was fine after the “insurrection “.
