I fished Herrington Wednesday and caught three ranging from about a pound to 3 1/2. I can’t complain too much but my Uncle got shut out. The KDFWR fishing forecast rates Herrington a good/excellent fishery right now but I find Herrington pretty tough to fish. I know it is supposed to be a good night fishing lake but I’m not interested in fishing all night.
We fished near Cane Run trying around boat docks and any shallower banks and points we could find but there isn’t a lot of skinny water in Herrington and when there is, it usually drops off quickly right near the bank. Does anyone have any info they feel comfortable sharing regarding Herrington? I have heard a lot of folks fish near Gwinn Island. We normally put in at Chimney Rock since my Uncle doesn’t much like the other ramps. Is it worth the run down to Gwinn Island and is it just more of the same as far as bluffs and extreme drop offs? Any info is appreciated.
Thanks
