Haven't bass fished in a bit because I'm switching to crappie mode but water temps have dropped almost 10 degrees in the last 2 weeks from 85 to 75 (this past Monday). That was at daylight of course and raised a couple degrees by around noon.

Anybody catching any SM on lake cumberland? I haven't fish the lake since early spring and just wondering if the water temp had cooled off enough that the fish have started biting.
Any info would be appreciated.

Back when I did fish Cumberland for Smallies, it was usually mid Oct. before I started. Top water prop baits ... Silver Buddy ... and even a big minnow on a hook/sinker rig were my usual arsenal of tricks. I'd put in at the State Park, run thru the cut-thru and cross the main lake over to the islands in front of Bucket Branch. After fishing those, I'd run into Beaver/Otter and fish the two points across from the little island .... and maybe even the little island itself.
Normally I'd have to wade thru a few KY's to get bit by a Smallie (at the islands), and let the Silver Buddy go deep under the KY's in the jumps (back in B/O creek).
I did have a small KY on a prop bait, out in front of the islands .... and shortly after it came to the surface it was ever so rudely taken off my prop bait by a large Smallmouth !! LOL !!
I saw water that was 85, 82 & 79 degrees Sunday night. It got bad foggy quick in the 79* stuff.
