Summer 2022 has set in with hot temperatures, beautiful mornings are perfect for early fishing trips, the water comes alive at sunrise with surface baitfish, game fish waking up and going for the bait fishes. Variety of different species is great during summer, we are catching all the usual backwaters fish like Seatrout, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, and lots of others, also less common fish like weakfish, lane snapper, pompano, permit and you never know what kind of fish may bite, always expect a couple surprise catches in summer. Black Drum are a year round resident fish here in the North Indian River Lagoon at New Smyrna and Daytona Beach, Young Grayson was excited to catch a big Drum for a photo before release………………
