The short answer is "THE BOAT IS PERFECT FOR FISHING BELOW THE DAM".
The long answer is make sure there is enough output to make the river deep enough to navigate.
My advice is to stand on the stairs leading down to the water behind the bathrooms. Video the rock piles showing location while the water is at its lowest (when there hasnt been any gemeration for several hours) . Study the video very carefully.
Then notice where you are standing in relation to the stairs and make a mental note that says "if the water is at least up to here it's deep enough to run without worry".
This piece of advice you really need to pat attention to, if you have intentions of running all the way up to fish the boils right beside the concrete DO NOT TURN YOUR MOTOR OFF!
**** gets real real fast up there and you don't need to be fumbling trying to start the motor to back you out of a bad situation.
    good luck and be careful

    Question

You may want to install a skeg/prop guard like a Macs river runner if using in the river.

    River hints

I would recommend using an aluminum prop. I've chewed up several. Now I just use the one beat up one.
