    Green River Tailwaters in Campbellsville

I'm thinking of putting a quick trip together for February to see if I can get onto some walleye and musky in the tailwaters below Green River Dam. Was hoping someone might share some knowledge about it, mainly how boatable is it? I've got a 16.5' Lund with 30hp on it and we get it into some pretty skinny water on the Cumberland River near Burkesville, but I can't tell from maps or Google Earth how boatable the Green is below the dam. How far downstream can a boat make it when the water's up in late winter? From what i understand, you're not allowed to get closer to the dam than the boat ramp there, but wondering how far downstream we could possibly go.

Thanks for any tips and help, maybe I can help someone else with Cumberland River or Cave Run tips.

Lots of folks are tight lipped about some of the rivers, and areas. Public discussions about places like Green tail water will destroy those areas.

A small boat...........under 17 prob, or a yak or canoe. I don't know if I'd put a big boat in there..

No idea about fishin, I've not put a boat in there in a long time. I'm not too sure they stock eye's any longer, and are they in there naturally? I did catch some 10 years ago or so.

Boats are not allowed above the ramp, I think...........like I said, it's been a long time.

Let me know how you do .

    Later,

It is basically a big creek there. A 14 flat bottom jon would be about the biggest rig I would attempt in there.

Fished down there from the bank quite a bit. Walked down to the bridge several times. Water depth always depends on flow. If they aren't discharging a normal amount of water its pretty shallow in there. It should float a flat bottom about everywhere in that stretch but not sure about below that. Caught some walleye in there in the past but all above the ramp to about the little creek that runs in from the park there.
