Itwill be summer fishing before we know it here in East CentralFlorida, water is warming after a fun spring of backcountry saltwatercatching here on the Indian River and Mosquito Lagoon. Summerpatterns come in gradually over a month or two as spring comes to anend, open water game fish scatter out through the intracoastalwaterway after the schooling pattern ends, fun Jack Crevalle andLadyfish are widespread and regular rod benders through the summer.Bottom fish on the regular catch list include Whiting Pompano, BlackDrum and more, Seatrout, Redfish and Snook are always a possibilitytoo in the backwaters. Surprise fish are a usual event on some trips,like this “small” Tarpon recently, hooked, many jumps, and aquick Photo, Release for Bronson …………..

BlackDrum are lurking on the bottom in the backwaters, along channels, inholes and off drop offs, they love shrimp so our usual choice of baitis just right, Jason here visiting from Oregon with a nice one beforereleasing …………
