They were there a couple of weeks ago along with the white bass. Meduim to large sized. We caught a couple in the 1 pound range. We caught them on small white twister tail grubs.

I was woundering if anyone knows if the skipjacks are running at the steam plant in Gallatin? I was wanting to make a trip here in a few week maybe. If they are about how big are they right now. Thanks again for all the skipjack help guys.

The skipjack are in at the Steam Plant now. In fact, they are thicker than I've seen in a long time. If you want to make a bait run, this is the time to go.

Thanks, bd this must be the year for skippy's. We caught 110 here at our local steam plant this weekend. Normally there isn't any skips around here during the winter but it looks like this year is going to be different. This is a good thing I can drive 10 minutes VS. 4 hours. Thanks for the info and we'll more then likely come down anyways to do some Rockfishing.
Thanks, Jeremy
We've had a huge threadfin shad population this year, probably due to the combination of a mild winter and dry spring. I think all the food provided by these threadfin has helped the skips rebound quite a bit.
I haven't gone farther downriver to Clarksville yet this year, but the big catfish should be awesome when it gets a little colder.
