Crappie fishing at Douglas has been the best it has been in years. The upper end at Nina Creek and above has been the best but the fishing all over the lake has been good, The upper end is 40 and muddy the lower end is 46 and stained. The fish have been somewhat shallow due to the dark water. Some days a jig under a float 2 feet deep is good. The sauger were hitting above Swans. The fish were 25 or so feet deep along the bluffs that fall into the river channel. They had been catching them bouncing a jigs and minnow off the bottom but the actions seems to have slowed a little or the Sauger moved further up stream . fish2win

Chartruse, purple or yellow Doll Flys tipped with a minnow. Put in at the free launch at Dandridge or the free launch above the I40 bridge near Swans dock.Fish2win

douglas report for crappie and white bass

Today was probably one of the best days i have seen. About everyone over there had there limit of crappies. A few white bass were being taking but very few. Trolling seemed to be the way to go, with a popeye and minnow. We had our limit in probably in about 3.5 hours. Then the wind picked up and the fishing was over. Had a heck of a time getting the boat loaded with all the people. So there u go.

Isn't Indian Creek below Swann's??? (down the lake as opposed to up the lake....) Just for clarification and yes it will be shallow either way..

The white bass were running good today. Also got 5-6 walleye in the boat. White jigs tipped with minnows was the ticket today. There were lots of crappie being caught as well.
