That's what some of the ol' timers refer to as "oil holler":)
It's always been that way but, seems to be worse when the lake is drawed down in winter.
There's some kind of natural oil spring there somewhere;(

Took our annual DH FNF trip (6 guys, 3 boats) this past week/weekend with mixed results. Our 5th year taking the trip, however definitely our worst in terms of number of fish caught (unless you count trout). However, sizes were NICE this trip, with big fish going 6.5, and a 5.11 kicker. Caught them on leaders ranging from 9-12 feet, fly color didnt seem to matter. Fish were scattered on steep bluffs, points, and even found them real shallow...one of the guys on the trip actually caught a smallie in 3 FOW on a spoon (he got bored and was playin with the trout).
Big fish came from Long, and Kyle seemed to be a good area for us. Pulled a few from Horse and Lick as well...not so good in Indian for us this year. Made a run to Mitchell, which turned out to be a waste of gas. Talked to a coupla guys who claimed to have been bangin em on live shiners pretty good. In the back of Lick, there's quite a bit of oil slicks in the water and it REEKS of crude oil...dunno if there's a pipe burst or what, but something isn't right back there.
Anyways, for a few pics of the bigger fish check it out here > http://www.ohiogamefishing.com/forum...ad.php?t=41539
Great time as always, already looking forward to next year!
