I'm taking a day off Friday to do a little fishin', but I can't make up my mind which lake. I'm bring my dad along and I'd like to give him a good trip. We always start out chasin' the bass (which we always release), but alot of the time end up with crappie, white bass, striper, walleye, ect. We've done this since I was a kid. Basiclly I'm askin' what's biting? And if anybody has been to both, which one has got a better bite now? I like both lakes the same, but I know that at certain times there can be a world of difference between the two. Any info that could help our trip would be greatly appreciated.

Morristown, TN????????????????
There's Quarryville boat ramp on Hwy 11W at Mooresburg, TN (west of Rogersville) and one on Hwy. 25E at the 25E boat ramp at Morristown, TN. Both are on Cherokee Lake. There are others but those are the easiest to find.
Use Yahoo Maps or a road map to find the direction you need to go.
Be careful and watch for underwater hazards. Good Luck!
douglas has been a hot lake in the last little bit for crappie and white bass around walters bridge. good luck.
I know it's the time for croppie right now, but I don't know if it's just me that has no luck at all or just bad timming on the fishing. My husband and I rotate which lake we go to. We try Cherokee, Douglas and Norris but we never or seldom come back with any fish. Last weekend people were saying to fish at Norris, croppie very active. We could see people fishing here and there and catching fish, we caught one out of the entire day. Fly and a minnow we used most of the day. Then we tried trolling with a plug, we tried a little white grubb and bobber. What are we doing wrong? I'm getting discouraged. Out of 20 times i've went fishing this past year, I ''may'' have caught 4.
IF anyone has advice, I'll take it. We're looking for crappie or walleye.
We decided to go to Cherokee friday and had a good day. We had 13 bass with 11 being keepers on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. We also picked up 9 crappie with 5 being keepers by drifting minnows behind the boat. Water temps were 55 to 60 degrees and the sun was in and out with a stiff wind blowing around 10 miles an hour most of the day. Hope this helps. . . .
