Does anyone know the lake record for Smallmouth Bass? Who holds it? I'm trying to debunk something told to me by a former co-worker?

I dont know the record officially but I do know a man that caught one 8lbs 11 oz in 1965. He was trolling a coach dog pattern Bomber near the old Point 23 during the month of June. The old 23 was near the gap going to German Creek. The TVAS changed from Points t9 mile markers in the mid or late 70's. IOt would be approximately 15 miles from the dam. He was fishing out of Gilmores where he had a home. He was our next door neighbor. He had the fish mounted and it hung in his living room at his lake house. He is dead now.I am sure that someone has caught one over 9. Most of the better SM lakes in East Tn have Yielded a few over 9 at one time or the other. The 10 mark is the rae size that seems top belong to Dale exclusively. I know there have been several 10+ brought into Horse Creek on Dale. I personal
ly saw a 9,6 brought in a Loudon 3 or 4 Decembers ago. Fish2win
I used to work with this guy who I designed a home for on lake Douglas and he claimed to have the lake record for smallmouth on Cherokee. The more I thought about it the more I began to doubt it and finally I had to ask the question. You know how some guys exagerate and say things that they think that no one will try to check... so I figured I would ask.
Thanks for providing what you have so far...
