    Striper/Hybrids on Cherokee

Are there no longer any Stripers in Cherokee? We use to really catch 'em this time of year at night. Now the last couple of years, not one - just Hybrids. Any info on this subject would be appreciated. Thanks, James.

    RE: Striper/Hybrids on Cherokee

I have fished for Stripers and Hybrids for 20+ years on Cherokee .Since Oct. 2005 all I have caught is Hybrids not one Striper. Some of my friends have caught some Nice Stripers up to 28Lbs,mostly on livebait . I troll mostly with Bucktails and Large Cranks.Sure seems like the the Hybrids have taken over . Before Oct. 2005 I caught lots of Stripers down river according to my notes .In fact according to my notes from June of 2005 on down to the dam I caught a mixture of Hybrids and Stripers. I like the Hybrids better , for eating and I think they fight harder then the Stripers for there size. Have caught hybrids up to 11 and 12 lbs. Catch a big one. Yank ,
