    need help installing depth finder

    just bought a humminbird 383c combo. i plan on swapping out my old tracker(humminbird) model for this new one. i plan on installing the tranducer on the the transom. i've not really jumped into it yet but a concern so far is how do i run the cable from the console to the transom? ANY AND ALL TIPS WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

    If you have a switch panel on the wall of the drivers side, take that out and fish the wires through that opening to the back. I had to straighten out a couple of hangers and duck tape them together. I then taped the wires to the hanger and fed it through. Better yet if you are pulling old wires out, tape the new wire the old with and pull it through. To do this you will have to cut the transducer off the cord of your old unit. If you don't want to do that, tape some thin diameter rope to the old wires and pull that through. Then tape the new wires to the rope and pull that through. On another boat I had to Pull up part of the deck which wasn't as hard as it sounds. Good luck.
