Late October and November will be better...they still night fish at that time because it's tough during the day.

Headed for Dale with my wife the last week in September for bass. Looking for general patterns and recommended sections of the lake. (Trying to save some gas money LOL) We are going out of Hendricks Creek.
Thanks in advance for any info you can provide. If you'd rather email...huntindog@tds.net.

Tee, how late in October is late enough? I was thinking about going to the Hollow on the week of October 15 and staying on the lower end of the lake. Should consider I postponing a week or two? What patterns tend to emerge around that time? I have only been to Dale Hollow during the summer, when night fishing is king.
Does anyone have a good smallmouth guide they would reccomend for this visit? I am open to other species as well.
Thanks!
God Bless and Good Fishin'!

Don't need a guide...just watch your LCR and listen to what I'm about to tell you.
It usually depends on Mother Nature as to WHEN exactly. Sometimes it's late October and sometimes it's November. Keep a good watch on water temp and when it starts dippin' into the mid to low 60's and into the upper 50's is when you'll want to go.
The smallmouth will be at there deepest depth at this time more than any other time of the year.
It's nothing unusual to catch them from 40 to 50 feet deep and you'll do a lot of moving to find schools of baitfish. You'll also have the lake to yourself.
Once you've done that...it's in the bag dude ;)
e-mail me..tommy.rich@wpafb.af.mil and I'll give details and I also know a few guides if you do desire.
