Country Music Legends Join in the “Salute To The Screaming Eagles”

The “Salute To The Screaming Eagles” being held October 14, 2006 at Paris Landing State Park in Paris, TN on beautiful Kentucky Lake, will now have some of the greatest names ever in country music performing. True legends like: Jerry Reed, Little Jimmy Dickens, Porter Wagoner, Tanya Tucker and Bobby Bare, along with Bryan White who just won the CMT’s Best Country Video Award.

Also performing will be Miss America, Deidre Downs, Miss Alabama 1997 Beth Stomps, Miss Alabama 1995 Leigh Sherer, Miss Alabama 2004 Shannon Camper, Miss Alabama 2003 Catherine Crosby, and Miss Alabama 2000 Jana Sanderson.

The support from all these entertainers is coming in with one thing in mind- they all just want to say ‘thank you’ to the military of the United States of America who sacrifice so much for us all.

The “Salute To The Screaming Eagles” show will be held starting at 6pm at Paris Landing State Park. “The show is a USO-type production which features songs of all types”, states Debra Talley, show producer and National Marketing Director for American Bass Anglers, the organization staging this event.

“Whether you’re into pop, R&B, or country, we’ve covered it all. The former Miss Alabamas – all entertainers - present a fast-paced, high energy, song and dance show that seems to never stop. The show is filled with lots of surprises for the soldiers of the 101st.

For anyone that has ever watched on TV, excerpts from USO Shows featuring Bob Hope, it will bring back memories of Ann Margaret and Marilyn Monroe as they crooned their own renditions of love songs to the soldiers stationed so far from home. It was a time when mail took weeks or even months to arrive and email was not even a figment of one’s imagination.

An audience of all ages will find something to enjoy whether it’s a walk down memory lane, or the latest, hottest, most tantalizing songs being played on MTV today”, says Talley.

Jerry Reed, probably best known for his movie roles, of course, is a well-seasoned country musician. “I began to get seriously involved with paying tribute to the military a couple of years ago in working with the ‘Wounded Warrior Project’, says Jerry. “I want to bring some of my county music family together to entertain both on bases as well as in VA Hospitals. We have all been so blessed to enjoy a career of what we enjoy most- it’s time we give back to these soldiers who sacrifice everyday by not only putting themselves in harms’ way, but by just having to be separated from their families back home. We owe them for going and serving in our place.”

The Show is being held in conjunction with the fishing tournament planned for the soldiers of the 101st earlier that day also at Paris Landing State Park. Boaters are needed to take a soldier fishing. If you want to get involved personally and help a soldier enjoy a great day of fishing, you can register by visiting our website at www.americanbassanglers.com .

Miss Tennessee 2006, Blaire Pancake and Miss Kentucky 2006, Rachalle Phillips will both be on hand to say thank-you to the troops and sign autographs throughout the day.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and plan to arrive early to enjoy all the other activities planned throughout the day for grown-ups and kids alike. This is one show you’ll be talking about for years to come. Miss this, and you’ll regret it! The show is free to all who attend.

RE: For all those who own boats. Please read.

I am unable to participate in this event; it's too soon since I lost my Soldier (brother). He died on July 19, 2006, from exposure to bombs and chemicals while serving his second tour of duty in Iraq.

Bass fishing was the thrill of his life. The Program of his funeral contained a photo of him holding a large bass that he caught.

If I could have him back, I would walk to the lake just to go fishing with him again.

My thoughts and best wishes will be with everyone on this very special day.

    In Loving Memory
