Center Hill - 1 January 2007

Fished the Hill today ...got in the water at 7:30am and left at 2pm......only saw two other boats all day (guess everyone else's head wast hurin' from the night before) ..... What a drop in air temperature from the past few days ---- cloud cover all day, not a drop of sunshine; at one point around 10ish, I thought it was going to rain but the light mist/drizzle stopped....... Fished primarily the upper end vicinity Johnson's Chapel boat ramp (think that's the name - the one before Cookeville Boat Dock marina)........ threw a variety of baits - jig, worm, jerk baits, etc. ---- Notta... Around 12pm finally hit a secondary point with a hair jig/trailer and caught two small spots in around 20ft of water....folks, that was it...water temp by noon was 51.3... The wind picked up and the air temp drop so I decided to call it a day around 2pm.......this was better than sitting home and watching UT get their butt handed to them..... oh well, that's why they call it fishing instead of catchin' .....tight lines........

Dover: What did the water look like up in falling water river?? Clearer than back on the main channel and did you see any pods of shad with the few degrees cooler water temps?? Had a friend and his buddy fish that area and above cookeville dock on wednesday of last week and ended up with five spots between them on a drop shot rig...Thanks...283:-)

283 -- H2O was considerably clearer, not like DH, but better than the main channel, about 3ft of visibility --- the upper end is definitiely alot clearer than mid-lake and the lower end vicinity of the dam......It was overcast all day and only found two small pods of shad (circle ball types that I like) and did find layers of shad in various locations along bluffs holding about 4ft off the bottom in 25-30 feet of water (never had much luck with those types)...... between now and February it is only going to get better......just can't wait for the water to get below 50...tight lines
