I am a college student, and am interested in getting started into tournament fishing. I am not a novice fisherman by any means, but I have never really fished competitively. What do you think is my best way of getting started.

What college are you at?
I go to Wabash College.
Do you have a boat or someone you plan on fishing with? If you have someone there are some good Team tournaments with low membership fees.
Jamison, a few years ago I helped with a college club event on Morse and I thought Wabash had a bass club that participated. If so, that's a great place to start. I would be willing to take you out with me - I fish the Wal-Mart BFL's and live near Geist where I practice often. If you would like to fish with me sometime, feel free to shoot me an e-mail at thollowell@firsthorizon.com. I'm more than willing to help you get started.

We have a 96 ranger bass boat. I might fish with my dad. Yeah I actually fished in that tournament on Geist with a Purdue student, I was still in High School. Wabash's team is extremely inactive. We never did anything the first semester. I decided to pass on the club and try to find something else to fish in. I bass fish a lot down in Florida. We have a place on the Harris Chain. What is the BFL tour like.
Join a collegiate club. If you're at Purdue or IU both have excellent clubs. If you're not then start one! I am sure there are others at whatever university you attend who are into fishin...
Sorry just saw you attended Wabash...
Who did you fish Geist with that was from purdue. I graduated from purdue in 2004...was it craig?
His name was Mike Roccio.
