Sept 14th though 18th fishing report that I received said the the grass (submergent vegetation) was still abundant in Patoka lake.
The last temperature profile report that I read showed the thermocline at approx 23ft and water above the thermocline had plenty of dissolved oxygen.
I was wondering too if the grass was still around. I guess it depends on how cold the water gets and how much sunlight the lake receives. Angle of the sun and all.
Find where the shad are grouping up in the shallow bays and you should find some bass.
The fish will start to go shallow this time of the year. But that does not mean that at some point during the day that you can't catch them in 20ft of water also.
Fish the back of coves, creek channel bends and the tongues of the inside bends in the creek, and sharp dropping points.
