Thats a very wide question.
It is deep enough for a bassboat, I guess that is all that matters.
The rest of it is up to how much rain we get.
Any decent quality depth finder can find the channel for you.

For all you that boat the Ohio, What is the average depth of the river? Max depth? Depth below the dams? Thank you.

I was just curious, have never boated the Ohio and heard somewhere at average flow it was only 5-7 ft most places. Guess I just always figured it was a big river and had 50 ft holes, no?
The best I can remember is that the Ohio river channel is in the thirties. Pending on which pool you are in. I'm sure there are deeper holes on all of the pools. 7-12' is about average for most creeks, the mouth of the creeks most likely will be less. Some you can't get in if you don't know the water elevation, so be carefull. Hope this helps...
thank you!
the fishing is red hot there right now
The depth right below Newburgh Dam where the water empties out of the gates is around 80 ft. It becomes shallower as you get away from the dam. The channel will vary but in this pool I think it will average around 25 ft. There are deeper spots and shallower ones. However there is a minimum that has to be maintained for navigation. I'm sure the COE can give you those figures. May even have them posted on their website. Out of the channel the water can be about any depth. I would almost bet that this is true of all the pools. Hope this helps.
sure does..Thank you!
