Fished Guntersville 3/17-3/19 - launched out of the waterfront lot. boated between 5-10 bass per day - most caught early and late on traps ripped over and through the emergent grass in 5-10ft of water. had a few other fish taken on suspending rogues including a nearly 3# spotted bass. tough conditions and brutal beating when the wind and waves picked up. water temps were in the upper 50's to the low 60 range then but with the weather would expect them to cont to drop. this is 2 springs in a row where the weather has not "cooperated". hope this post is helpful and thanks to the kind folks at the waterfront for the wonderful breakfast every am.
I too was down at the Big "G" during this time period. Fishing was slow in Sauty Creek and Towne Creek. Caught my fish on square billed shallow running crankbait and a fire tiger crank that went down to 12 feet. Water temp was around 58.5 to 59.3 in Sauty Creek and up to 62.7 in Towne Creek. Did catch the biggest Crappie I ever caught in Towne Creek on the shallow running Crankbait. Winds were from 25 to 35mph and it made fishing real tough, get them early or late before the winds pick up.
